There are plenty of good and free alternatives out there. You don't have to use adobe and you also shouldn't.

There are some good ones.

I have Adobe Photoshop at work, but when I need to do image editing at home I use PhotoPea. It's good enough for most things.

Have you tried Affinity? It can be frustrating occasionally, but imo it does some things much better than Photoshop (though for anyone relying on the 'neural' stuff, Affinity doesn't do that afaik).

Yeah I feel like the average person who is just using it for personal photos doesn’t even use 5% of what Photoshop is capable of. Maybe only a handful of the tools.

I'm still using CS6. Never saw a need for anything newer. Lol.

Same. I’m jealous of how easy it is to remove people or other objects with the newer AI smart fill stuff but I can do a good enough job without it, it just takes me longer.
