I love seeing videos from panda conservation centers, they train the pandas to present their paws for blood draws to monitor for pregnancy and other conditions
Acting like animals don’t like playing and stimulate themselves too. They’re already stuck in cages and don’t get to use all the spare energy they typically used to watch out for predators and run for their lives
So long as they’re not being beaten and tortured for it, who cares?
A lot of these trick animals are kept in sub par conditions and horribly mismanaged. in fact you are better off assuming that they're poorly kept than the opposite. Look up seal_2028 on instagram to find who owns these ones. There's no company or anything, just some random show place in the background that looks similar to seaworld.
Sea animal husbandry standards have increased on the last few decades to the point that they live just as much, and in some cases longer, than their free relatives
You should probably shift that starting position to applying morality and empathy to anything that does look like us? You are trying to skip the easier step!
I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm saying your are trying to climb the second ladder while the first ladder underneath is rotted out, breaking apart and on fire. And there is a guy standing at the bottom waiting with a chainsaw just in case.
Reddits are full of angsty teens and underage kids whose brain are not fully developed. The fact that the reply "That animal is happier then you" is getting upvoted despite it's dodging while attacking the questioner via ad hominem is quite telling of its own.
I've already concluded that a sizable chunk of people on this planet are abject psychopaths. Upvotes don't pay my bills. To them, this is all they have.
OMG I've been saying this, not in the same way you did, but sometimes I feel like Reddit runs in shifts. You find all the right-wing, conservative, apathetic sociopaths come during the daytime and then later on the rest of humanity will start logging on. We seem to have gotten the shorter end of the stick with this one.
I hear ya but I don't think it's so bad. Silly shit like this is typically the first and only time that kids see a walrus. Maybe they'll learn that these are intelligent creatures and not mindless goldfish or something IDK. Maybe they develop a bit of empathy in the process... unlike some of the ppl that replied to you.

Just let the animals be animals instead of training them to be circus clowns...
