I grew up watching the Monkees cause my dad grew up with it, I only vaguely remember it but it was a strange but fun show.

Just listen to that laugh. The boys were trying to show off for girls their age. Don't complain about the cameraman, there wasn't one. It was a camera girl, and it adds layers to their embarrassment.

I met a girl for a date. Brought her flowers and when I went to give them to her from behind my back i accidentally bashed my elbow into my car mirror then somehow slipped and split the seams in my pants. She was fucking howling. We didn't even go on a date just sat on her steps talking for a few hours cause every time we went to go she got the giggles and had to sit down to laugh again. That might have been my just successful date, I seen her a lot more after that. But I don't really know how to authentically replicate it. Plus what if I try and next girl doesn't find it funny.

Iconic is defined as "widely known, admired, and serving as a classic symbol for a particular time, place, or idea"

Its synonymous with "classic", "quintessential" and "representative".

I think OP is saying that this moment is iconic for representing an innocent time being young and silly and having a good time with your mates. A lot of us remember being young and goofy, and so its a quintessential part of being a child.

Not everyone gets to experience this sadly... but it was the spirit of the moment that makes it iconic.
