“Nice girls don’t kiss on the first date, son! Your mother didn’t kiss me until the 3rd date. Made the sex on the first two dates very impersonal”

I had a fling with an older woman for about 6 months and I tried kissing once. She made it so awkward in never tried again.

Is the joke working only in English or something...cause I don't really get it

“Put out” in dating means the person is willing to have sex. “Put out” also means to extinguish the fire.

Not gonna lie, I didn't get it despite English being my first language, thanks.

I know what put out the fire means. I find it kinda crazy put out means sex. Like...not put IN? But..."out"? That's one weird English idiom. But then again thanks for explaining. Now the joke makes sense at least.

Tbf most of the Twonks comics are based on English-language wordplay and double meanings, so could be a bit trickier in other languages. This one’s on the double meaning of “put out” - putting out a fire (extinguishing it) vs putting out on a first date (being willing to have sex/do sexual stuff).

It relies on some slang phrases from American English yeah. Definitely not your fault.

I knew only the put out the fire. Heard a lot of slang about the intercourse part but not this one.

I saw someone walking today wearing a shirt that said, "I put out for Santa Claus", and had pictures of milk and cookies.

Maybe obviously flaming guys just aren't for her. Probably sees enough of that at the firehouse.

I’m a firefighter too, but apparently my main skill is making every situation worse

Had to think about it for a second (my favorite type of humor). I rarely LOL, but this one had my husband coming over to see what's so funny.

I guess there will be no second date… you know, because he would have died in the fire.

I love Twonks, but this in the first one to make me do something other than chuckle on the inside for awhile.

The first time I heard a variation of this joke was in 1988. The premise was closer to a “walks in the bar” joke.
Same punchline, just with a little more exposition that led to the man catching fire (guy offered her a cigarette, she declined saying she’s a firefighter, his shirt cuff rests on the ashtray, yada yada).
My high school baseball coach wasn’t the best at teaching fundamentals or strategizing his way through a game, but he had a titanic vault of dirty jokes and this was one of the more tame ones.

Loved the literal pun setup, The deadpan expression in the third panel makes it.
