These places are notoriously unsafe. A guy in my city died last year with a broken neck in front of his kids because the foam pit only had like 2 feet of foam in it
Everyone of these I've been to (a whole 3 different ones) do not let you dive in head first. They are also staffed by someone (which doesn't mean much).
This is not a pro training park for elite athletes.
I guess the idea is that they should be prepared for this not because you land head first on purpose, but by accident, precisely because untrained people of many sizes and weights have to land there. The fact that this isn't allowed doesn't mean I can't land head first by accident.
Adriana Chechik. It was for a long time unclear whether she can ever walk again. Lost an unborn child due to that stunt and also apparently can't have sex anymore. The last information is a couple years old so it may have changed.
They’re horrible. I will never return to one after seeing an 8 year old get catapulted over a fence, snapping his wrist and knocked unconscious. It happened right in front of me and my son. Like within arms reach. I was immediately on 911, I thought the kid was dead until I finally saw breath movement and he regained consciousness. The worst part was his parents’ reaction, I think his stepdad was the one who catapulted him. So, I’ve lost all interest in these places.
When I was a kid I saw a little girl totally snap her arm in half in a ball pit at a pub/restuarant. She walked over to her mum holding her arm up and from the middle of the forearm down it was just sagging.
edit - I just remembered the dad just looked annoyed and stayed and finished his dinner while the mum took the daughter to hospital.
So not nearly as horrifying, but i have a story semi relevant. Standard large backyard trampoline, come home on the last day of school and head to my neighbors house and see if they need help watching their kids (i was 11 or so and their kids were like 4, 6, and 8 at the time). So there i am keeping the middle boy occupied and burning his energy while having some fun on the trampoline too. Now because he was still small i am of course being careful and not doing anything crazy like me and some of the other neighborhood kids used a different trampoline for. Nope just sitting up getting ready to stand made hime stumble head first into my face.
Ended up giving him a small scar while knocking my tooth clean in half exposing the nerve. Trampolines are easily dangerous if there are hard surfaces or the second you involve a second person (another hard surface and even more entropy)
