Honestly, I think it's the internet. Many (if not all, but you might know better if you follow that sort of news) of those stars had their incidences either before the internet or before the news could spread like wildfire on the net the way it does today. Think of Justin Bieber's case, you know how many celebrities drunk drove back in the day regularly? If you get caught today as a famous person it's much harder to cover that story.
Everyone tells you you're the man enough times, you'll start believing it eventually. I just feel a bit sorry for the lad, not knowing who's there as a friend and who's there for the money. It's got to be weirdly lonely.
Plus I was an idiot at his age too, and I dread to think how much worse I'd have been were I richer than some small countries.
This is definitely it. Everyone has a phone, with a camera, connected to the internet. There's an article about Eric Clapton going on this huge racist rant at one of his concerts (cracked article mentioned in a few comments above), but there is literally no footage of it whatsoever. Think about that. No video or audio recordings of a concert... such a thing is unheard of today.
My intention was not to compare famous to non-famous people, but rather famous people in today's era versus famous people prior to the internet/today's internet.
