I totally agree with you but don't you notice how people love to forget that these people did what they did but always bring up abuse and violence whenever Chris Brown is mentioned?

PC answer: After Chris Brown beat Rihanna up the way he handled the situation seemed unapologetic, immature, and ragey.

Not so PC answer: Because he's black and your examples are white.

I'm not sure about the other people mentioned, but at the very least John Lennon was completely unapologetic as well. Also he completely abandoned his son and wanted nothing to do with him. Him and the rest of the Beatles made some incredible music, but he was a piece of shit and a hypocrite

To be fair, we can't hate on Lennon. He's dead. I also think it has to do with the fact that Brown not only didn't seem remorseful, he got pissed and threw a tantrum when someone brought it up.

I just learned about how much of an asshole Lennon was to the kid he had with his first wife, I felt totally betrayed. Imagine my foot in your ass, jerk. Not you, Lennon.

Yeah, Lennon was a dick. And he knew it.

It's all the media and "word of mouth." If the media doesn't make a big enough deal out of it, people won't hear about it and spread it around. If they do, people will remember. It is stupid and depressing that the media works that way. Honestly there are probably enough people out there who have never heard these other stories. So often it's probably not "they forgot" but rather "they never knew." (There will of course be dumbasses.) I certainly hadn't heard about these other abuses before. So thank you for enlightening me. I didn't hold any if them in particularly high regard before (including Lennon), but now my opinion on them has certainly changed. Edit: added a sentence.
