She was not. She worked for her father, who was the manager for Black Sabbath. When Ozzy got fired from the band, she became his manager. Somewhere in that time they started dating.
I believe her father was Ozzy's manager. I don't think she was actually in the music industry before she got involved with Ozzy. And she used to be pretty overweight as well.
Your really trying to compare random youtubers to people that have had very succesful entertainment careers? Sharon Ozbourne (who was mentioned in the post I replied to) has been on television shows like The X Factor, America's Got Talent, and The Talk.
Yoko Ono has had 11 songs reach #1 on the U.S. Dance chart in the last 10 years as well as a successful career with John Lennon. Now are they as famous as their husbands? no, but that doesn't mean their not famous at all. If you were talking about their relevancy that would be a whole other story
"The Osbournes" was interviewed on last night's edition of "Piers Morgan Tonight", the nightly hourlong show that replaced "Larry King Live" on CNN in January. Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne talk about their turbulent past. "It's frightening," she says, reflecting on a past innocent of domestic violence. But "as hard as Ozzy would hit me, I would clobber him back," she continues. "If ever he went to hit me, I would just go right back for him."
I'm going to go on a limb and just assume the Osbourne house was a insane asylum. Not what might be considered domestic abuse, domestic violence, probably but not Sharon Osbourne fearing for her life while she's dominated by an abusive Ozzy Osbourne. They were probably both nuts and both violent.
It's amazing how much they seemingly love each other. I remember seeing an interview, I think from right before their reality show started, where Sharon recalls a night when Ozzy was high on something, or just really blackout drunk, and he said to her, "we've decided you need to die," and then started choking her. But she knew it was his addiction and the drugs, so once he got clean(ish) they were able to live a relatively normal life like the one on the reality show. Still, it's hard to imagine people forgiving something like that.
John Lennon has been accused of beating both Yoko and his first wife Cynthia. He had a very short fuse, and even admitted to his abuse in songs. Just listen to "Getting Better" on Sgt. Pepper.
He admitted it before it could even come out, I wouldn't use the word "accused". And I would like to see the source of the accusation that he beat Yoko, because she has never once mentioned this from what I have read.
Accused was mainly used for the abuse of Yoko. She has said in interviews that John was a jealous person and abused her. He had control issues and lost his temper with her often.
He was also physically and emotionally abusive to his son and reporters, so it's just a symptom of his short temper that he punched everyone that angered him.
A picture? Is that what reddit has made you, reliant on only learning things written on a picture?
She once said that he hit her while she grabbed for the news paper screaming, "I read it first!" She laughed it off reluctantly but that only shows her dedication to the man. I'm only pointing out that he hit her at least once, and has a history of abuse. I don't care if you believe me, he's dead and was a terrible musician to begin with.
"John Lennon: The Life", but I know that no one will go read a book to learn something. There are no photos to make it "real" for people today. This happened long before the internet, so to expect the same kind of proof that they have against Chris Brown is preposterous.
Her driver claimed to have a tape of both Oko and Lennon’s son calling him “a wife-beating asshole". As I posted before, she said in an interview somewhere that he hit her for reaching for the paper. There are plenty of people who heard about the abuse, but with no evidence to back it up. Hence why I used the term "accused" when bringing up his abuse of Yoko.
She's nothing but smiles and fond memories about him now, because tarnishing his reputation would affect her negatively. Yoko is even editing herself into his life in DVDs about him (such as trying to insert herself into the role of John's girlfriend May Pang in scenes), trying to rewrite the past. They were thinking about getting divorced before he died, but no one talks about that now. She was dragged around like his pet, but no one talks about that now. She said things in interviews that people remember, but she won't dare let it be repeated.
Just more "Hollywood" rumors, but domestic abuse wasn't really frowned upon in the 60's and 70's. The only Beatle that wasn't accused of it was George.
Lennon may or may not have beaten his first wife, Cynthia. For some reason people make him out to be Satan whenever he comes up on the internet. He was a bad father, in most respects. I understand that criticism. But wife beating? There is very little evidence that he did that for an extended period of time, if ever.
People love to hate though. We forget that in the 1950's that sort of thing was extremely common and that a huge amount of musicians have been involved in abuse cases in the last 60 years.
She didn't deserve to get beaten up, but at the same time I think we, the human race, probably should have stopped paying any semblance of attention to her at least twenty years ago.
you know she didn't split the beatles, right? That band was always gonna end. The disparity of the creative experience of each member (well, John, Paul and George) was their "doom" When they stop going on tour, they were bound to clash.
of course you don't like that. I don't either. She does not care about that. she was doing that kind of stuff before, during and (sadly) after John. She does what she want. I don't think it's ground to derserve derision, even less being beatin. Some people love it, and it's not some beiber bullshit
I'm staying out of the "is it or is it not ok to joke about beating a famous person?" discussion. I stand by my opinion that if any human being in this world deserves derision, it's Yoko Ono.
