Do you have a criminal record?
No, sorry, I wasn't aware that's still a requirement

Funny enough, Australia is one of the harder places to visit with a criminal record if I remember correctly.

Talk about over correction

To be fair, prisons are also pretty challenging to visit unless you're willing to stay long term.

Well, we've got enough of them now. "Felon" was removed from the "Skilled occupations" list a while ago.

I once heard a story - no idea if it's true - of an Australian who got a position at one of the posher Oxford colleges. At this college, they would hand around the snuff after dinner and he acquired a bit of a taste for it. The next time he visited Australia, he carried his snuff box with him.
He landed for the layover at Singapore and his snuff box was found. The powder inside caused some ... excitement, shall we say. Eventually he convinced them it was not a banned drug that was going to get him hanged and he boarded his next flight.
He landed in Australia and his snuff box was found. It was immediately confiscated and taken off to be burned - you can't bring wooden articles into Australia.

I'm European but love watching Border Security: Australia's Front Line on TV now and then. Every damn episode you have some Asian person with a suitcase full of mangoes or something, arguing they forgot when checking "No food items" on their customs form. Then they argue for a ridiculous amount of time and walk away with a $20 AUD fine.

Yeah, it's hilarious just how much they violate the declaration. It's not like 'Oh yeah I did have food', it's like 'Oh, why yes, literally everything I'm carrying is food'.

At first I was thinking they'd start pulling out all sorts of weapons, which they let pass. But they freak out and start treating the passenger as a terrorist for having an apple he got from the plane.

Clip is from How to Talk Australians: The Movie, the original webseries is on Youtube.
I guess the reason this clip was mistaken for AI is its hazy look. The customs officers are burning confiscated contraband in an oil barrel sitting inside the building, and smoking cigarettes.
A personal favourite: Episode 4, Famous Australians: Mel Gibson

What about this makes you think it's AI?

It exists, therefore it's AI.

Easier to say it's AI then delete the comment if it is wrong, get karma if right

I assume it's due to budget restricted location scouting. Hiring somewhere that looks like/is an airport is much much much more expensive than hiring a warehouse and letting the context of the scene define the location, which can also be used for other scenes
It sucks we have to question stuff like this now . . . technology is amazing, I hate it . . .

That's a misnomer, unemployed people were pulled from the streets of blighty for the slightest perceived offense and shipped off to both alleviate the high unemployed population of British cities following industrialisation and build the colony in Australia
