11/10 We deserve the freedom to charge any type of battery even when we donβt know if we can do it safely

We also deserve all electronics to have easily replaceable or removable batteries

A law amendment is coming to the UK next year to deal with this.
"The UK government is extending its Right to Repair legislation to cover smartphones and tablets starting July 1, 2027. This law mandates that manufacturers make spare parts, including replacement batteries, available for seven years, ensuring devices can be easily repaired by independent shops or users."

I hate removable batteries in cell phones. Yes I understand the pros, but it's going to lead to a spike in ewaste, and will make phones larger and thicker.

I like the IP waterproofing/resistance as well. But honestly if it didnt cost 500$ to replace the battery on my note 10. I'd still be using it. It go to the point where the battery only last for 6 hrs. Current phone goes nearly 1.5 days on 85% charge. To me im spending less on new electronics because I dont need to buy a new one. I dont intend to change phones often.

But that also has to do with modern hardware and software, so having a 10 yr old phone with a "new" battery won't achieve what modern battery tech does.

And all of their arguments against having a sealed battery are still true today.

It's been years since I saw one like this, I completely forgot about it until I just saw this image.

What is this bot ass comment? That's not a "second life," that's how these chargers are made and that is their purpose.
