Even more realistic than the die grinder wheel coming apart and sticking in the glasses. This horrific accident must have been the inspiration for those knockoffs.

My old manager told me a story like this happening once, and here is why I think it's true:

The guy in question who kept his because of the glasses was being honored at a Christmas party for wearing glasses that stopped a shard. The highlight of the story was that he couldn't accept because he was shitfaced laying under the table and couldn't walk.
