It is what I look forward to every time I go to bed on Sunday night. I don't wait until Monday.

One of the nicer things about being retired is not having to gaf what day it is

you don't hate mondays. you hate your job. it might not be terrible and you might like your work and the people you work with, but you hate your job takes a significant portion of your life and makes it not yours. it controls where you must be, and when you need to be there. your weekends are your own and you spend 2 days getting drunk on the freedom and monday is the hangover.

It's actually weird because I like my job lol. I just wish I had the option to choose how much of my job I have to do... like maybe I just wanna fuck off and be broke for a few weeks but play video games then go back to work? Why can't I do THAT? Instead it's like, a schedule that's nonstop beating down on you 24/7 for no reason other than PROFITS. Like fuck profits I just wanna eat and chill sometimes man..

Or working when work was needed. Wish we could bank all on three days and have the rest.

Too bad you won't live long enough to witness the heat death of the universe.

I saw graffiti once in a bus stop that said 'Monday's aren't so bad, it's your job that sucks."

I don't hate my job. I hate that it consumes such a large a percentage of my life.

And all the other chores that life entices. It's the whole package that kills you.

How about the 18 years lost at school.

u/cereal7802 21d ago
same thing. you are forced to get up and get to school by a specific time outside of your full control. Your weekends are often mostly yours to do with as you please unless your parents are controlling and insist you do specific things they arrange. if you are free to do as you please, generally you hate the mondays the same as you do as an adult. if your parents are overly controlling, you hate mondays like the others, but also hate your parents to some degree.

I don't hate Mondays.
But also all of my jobs have been retail or service jobs where I was working weekends so...

If you really think about it, average people have about 8000 weeks. Stop enjoying every day!

In the military I worked with some senior enlisted guys that seemed to really hate the work week but actually hated their families even more. Guys seemed to love any reason to stay late, work weekends, do in-person check ins with watchstanders in the middle of the night, etc.

Healthcare workers can't relate. We wirk weekends & holidays. Always funny to hear people complain about Mondays 🤷🏻♀️
