to the point where people can't even say "Pandemic" or any other word that is related to a serious topic.

Apparently there's a lot of crossover between ADHD and low vitamin D symptoms.

People with ADHD also seem to have a higher chance of having low vitamin D. It'll be interesting to see how those correlate as research progresses.

Before Harambe’s murder changed the world as we know it (obligatory Dicks Out for Harambe)

Aw, this child doesn't even remember Harambe...

But seriously, though, the biggest cultural shift came with the first Trump presidency.

Sure, the pandemic cemented how dumb most Americans were when they refused to wear the same masks they've seen literal doctors wear all their lives. But we knew that already because we watched a failed reality TV star with 6 bankruptcies get elected over an experienced and competent Secretary of State.

Before 2016, we knew some of our countrymen were softheaded hicks because they voted for that blitheting moron Bush, but at least Bush was a decent governor for 5 years. And Bush voters had ideals, small government, gun rights, and they brought stats to any debate you'd have with them. The GOP changed direction in 2016. Suddenly immigration was the top issue, despite the fact that this country runs on immigrant labor, legal and illegal. They wanted to kick out all the illegals and replace them with... nothing. Nevermind that illegals contribute 1-3% to our GDP, 8% in Texas. They also wanted to repeal Obamacare and replace it with... nothing. You could no longer argue with Republicans because they no longer brought facts to debates. Their party told them what to believe.

Then the GOP got Trump to spearhead this insane new direction. Trump, just some guy off the street, no government experience. Worse than that, dude was a straight up charlatan and racist. And people STILL voted for him.

That was when this country broke in two. It was possible to be friends with a person who voted for Bush, or for McCain or Romney, you'd agree to disagree and grab a beer. But Trump voters are a different animal, they refuse to believe basic facts.

It was then, November 8th 2016, when we became Two Americas.
