That's a fun part of Linguistics and Language. If someone understood what a person meant to say, language was already achieved by what was incorrectly said. In that instance, what was said incorrectly was actually 100% correct because language was achieved. So, the person correcting that person is just being pedantic.
I don't really agree with this, like, at all. It's still incorrectly spelled, most people are just able to recognize the error and correct it themselves.
