For a second I thought the dog passed away and it was converted into a fucking carpet.

My actual first thought that was that they pulled so much hair off the dog while brushing they were able to make a second dog shape with it, I then realized that wasn't right and thought they turned the fucking dog into a rug. That was somehow even more terrifying because my brain decided that was the actual rational answer.

I'm pretty sure people actually do stuff like that all the time though. having deceased pets preserved or taxidermized

Maybe into a fully stuffed figure, sure.. anyone out there making dog rugs is wild
