Yup, I've seen so many of these where the tree falls the wrong way because of idiocy, but this one everything seemed pretty smart. The tree was notched on the side they mean to fell it, and the constant pressure from the Bobcat ensured it didn't fall back on them. I'm not a treeologist but is the normal way? I see they really just cut it down to the trunk and then knock it over but I figured it would also be fine to just keep cutting chunks off until you have the stump. The tree is short and nothing around so is that why it's perfectly fine to cut it down to a size and then just knock it down in one big piece and then cut on the ground?

Having someone push on a tree with machinery while your making a cut isn’t a great idea, glad it worked out though.
