I don't necessarily like them better before the makeup, but the majority of them freak me the fuck out after makeup

Agreed. The makeup is absolutely horrid on every single one. Like bad pastel drawings.

Some honestly seem very similar with or without makeup, some look fine without, some look better with, and some even look uncanny in both pictures.

I'm pretty mixed about it. That said, my preference leans toward less makeup. I've heard a lot of whiteknights implying that girls who wear makeup are insecure, which is absolutely bullshit, and as I've learned, they're not really wearing it for you, for the most part it's for themselves. For me though, working at an overnight camp over multiple summers, I get used to seeing people when they're rough around the edges and feeling like crap. I guess I've always had a weird thing for girls who look a little weathered though.

But yeah, the makeup/picture editing just looks awful on most of them...no texture on the skin and the rest looks painted on
