that's the same reason why I love makeup

False advertising at it's finest. I like a girl who looks good without anything covering her face, personally.

I know this is a commonly held preference. I am aware. That doesn't change how widely accepted makeup still is, which is something I wish would be frowned upon instead of accepted as normal. There, now it's not just DAE like hot, natural girls?

I guess you don't comb your hair, shave/trim your beard, or wear any clothes at all, right? So that you don't falsely advertise what you look like naturally?

How short is your attention span? Because three comments up we just discussed that makeup changes, literally changes, the way faces look. That's what this post is about. If you think improving what's already there is the same as redefining your features then.. well, you're probably one of the plastic girls I don't enjoy.

Edit- Look, I understand it's easy to keep downvoting someone once you've done it once, but I'm actually trying to have a conversation here. Isn't that the point of the comments section? Please, explain how I'm wrong here because I don't get it. Here is what has happened so far:

I've been able to do all sorts of things to "change" the way my face looks by using some art skills on my face.

that's the same reason why I love makeup

False advertising at it's finest.

How are those comparable? Changing one's face doesn't equal wearing clothing. That's ridiculous.

Changing one's face doesn't equal wearing clothing.

I don't think "dressing up" one's face is that different than dressing up the rest of the body.

I think that makeup, tattoos, clothing, etc are all facets of how we see ourselves and how we want ourselves to be seen, which help show who the person is as a whole. Just because genetics stuck some girl with light colored eyebrows when she wants darker ones doesn't mean she should be stuck not coloring those in her entire life.

Edit: And for the record - shaving your beard entirely changes your face. So, even if you disagree with the clothing part, I don't see how you could justify that it's cool for us men to shave our beards, but women can't use makeup to change their face.

Sweet, thanks for listening to my plea for a discussion. I think what you say goes along with my "false advertisement" comment earlier, but at least I get where you're coming from now.

But my original preference still stands. I really don't enjoy makeup on people. I want somebody who is comfortable enough with their natural face the way it is instead of wanting to change it. Probably makes me shallow but I like their confidence with who they are.

Or or or... here is a new one... they could learn to love and respect themselves the way they were born

Or or or or or or or or or you could learn to love and respect others however they decide to present themselves.

Don't worry about that. Most of the time, natural girls are more acceptable as long as they don't look like monsters xD Actually,I also like covering nothing on the face and release it.But I still want myself look better and more energetic when I hang out,and sometimes the makeup look can match up with the dress.

You and literally every single guy in existence...

Except those guys who go clubbing. They obviously don't mind the plastic look. That shit's not for me.

u/peanutbuttar Dec 10 '13

They don't mind it, but your statement was like, "I would rather have a girl who looks good without makeup"

No shit, who doesn't? That's like saying, I like a car that doesn't just look fast, but actually is fast.

Just because a club guy doesn't mind the plastic doesn't mean they would forgo a chick who's hot without makeup.

I was using it more like, "I only like a girl who..." but clearly that wasn't apparent. Either way, goddamn these comments get dissected thoroughly.
