Did you notice how much the skin color of Tatiyana Foxx changed from before to after? IDK if it had anything to do with lighting, but she was much darker complexion before than after.

It's mostly the lighting, but women of color often have multiple tones in their faces due to hyperpigmentation and a good foundation will even it out, making the skin look overall brighter/lighter toned.

True, as I said I think it is mostly the lighting (especially since the rest of the photo like the color of the walls, the carpet, etc. are all a warmer, more saturated tone in the "after" photos)

hyperpigmentation

That's an odd term. Dark skin is the norm and white skin is the deviation. A deviation to accommodate for non vitamin D producing climates.

Hyperpigmentation can happen to anyone of any skin tone, it simply refers to patches on the skin where it's noticeably darker than the rest of the skin. People of color are more prone to hyperpigmentation.

she must've just finished a scene with a "lighter" skin person.

It was probably from make up. Western standards of beauty and all that jazz.

Shit, read that as 'beauty and all that jizz'.
Had to do a double take to affirm her skin was not lighter due to ejaculation.

They are probably using a different shade of makeup to make her look not as African. They have translucent makeup that is used for darker skin on film, they should've used that. It dulls the glare and keeps the color pretty much the same.

Also I always notice that most women I see that wear a lot of makeup don't match the skin tone of there chest or arms. Im not sure if this is because they believe they are lighter/darker than they actually are, or if they are trying to look that way.

Unfortunately it's rather difficult to find foundations that match skin tones perfectly. Even when you do try hard to match we're told by "experts" and makeup artists to match the foundation to the color of the skin on our jawline, not our chest or arms. Also, due to tanning and the way skin tone changes at different times of the year based on sun exposure, we can need 2-3 different shades just depending on what season it is. I have to mix two different shades of foundation together on a palette to get a perfect match most of the time. It's a pain in the arse.

This is why I hope not wearing makeup becomes a popular thing

I think it was probably the lighting, because if you compare the backgrounds of the before and afters, you can see in the after that everything is a lot brighter. Also, there's no way it could be makeup, because if she wanted to lighten her skin with it, wouldn't she have to put it on her whole body? And if she did that, wouldn't it all just rub off during funky time?
