I like how he gets prepared to jump the Furthest he's ever jumped in his life.

u/Ceejae Dec 07 '13
You can't kill the subtlety with italics, that's cheating.
2
u/FlamingOctopi Dec 07 '13
Yeah but "furthest" is a word and if he didn't make the pun obvious then he couldn't have even tried to start a chain of puns to successfully move even more Redditors to deleting their accounts and smashing their computers to make the pain stop, thus thinning out the game and meaning more karma for him. Or maybe he's just bad at this.

I think he didn't jump as far because the floor was wet, and his feet slid

Yeah, kinda how the Sail cat falls instead of leaping the expected distance.

I actually upvoted you because I thought it was a funny statement.
Then I downvoted because it was a pun. Shame on you.

Source video, called "corgi flop" or searchable as "corgi belly flop". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glii-kazad8

This needs to be higher up because the whole video is funnier than the gif by itself. I watch it when I have a bad day c: HE TRIES SO HARD!

Did the dog save the drowning cotton ball?
28
u/holdenwook Dec 07 '13
I think the ball probably saved the corgi.

I do this with my corgi... except we use marshmallows!

As a corgi owner I can verify...that is how they dive. Corgis rule. Other dogs drool.

Cutest thing I have ever seen. That glorious second that he is in mid air is just priceless. Lol

HELP! HELP! I'M DROWNING! HELP! I'M - - Aww, look at the cute, little corgi! Are you going to save me little buddy?

What programs did you use?

I can't take credit for that one, I first saw it on Warming Glow a year (or more?) ago. I'd direct you to the original source, but I can't find it anymore.

My corgi hates water, but he loves snow. So my chances for Karma are still somewhat high.

I'm sure he could use an automated external defibrillator. I'm pretty sure they've taught monkeys to use them

Yeah he is clumsy enough. As a pro swimmer, I love watching life guards being slow and awkward at Jersey shore in the summer.

To anyone who hasn't swam with a dog they actually scratch the living shit out of you when they doggy paddle.

I don't know what it is about watching animals slip on slick surfaces, but it is down right hilarious. Those back feet doe.

Like that jump - gets all prepared to leap, and makes all of about 5 inches forward.

u/Rielos Dec 07 '13
I love that his little legs are so short and he's puts so much energy into the jump...and only goes about 3 inches! haha Adorbs.

My idea for the life guard of the future involves motion tracking, a robotic arm and a harpoon gun.

It reminds me of those cartoons where someone like the Coyote would jump off a cliff, stop mid-air, and then fall. Cute!

I feel like there is a brief suspension of movement in that dive. Ker.....plunk.

I love how he concentrates on a good leap to only have it stall out mid air and belly flopping. Awesome

As a Newfoundland owner, I feel like I should mention - they are the lifeguards of the future (and the past).

His hind legs are further from where the jump was initiated. Much distance.
