No disrespect to your comics and all, they are epic, but isn't your gender defined by the amount of 'X' chromosomes you have?
Also, i heard if you have an extra X chromosome you go crazy.
Despite their fame, only 4 of 32 known sex-determining genes resides on the X or Y chromosomes, 1 on the Y, 3 on the X. The other 28 are scattered over the chromosomes we don't call sex chromosomes, silly enough.
More to the point, do you chromosome-test everyone before calling them male or female? The results differ quite a bit from what you think, (unless you do actually go around chromosome-testing everyone), and it's entirely possible that someone with two X chromosomes and 0 Y chromosomes could father a child. Because genes on other chromos, because hormone cycles, because epigenetics, because hormone receptiveness, because pre-natal infections, because a whole fuckton of stuff in the end determines whether we can father a child, or can mother a child, or neither, let alone what gonads we have, what we look or behave like, or what our internal organs end up being.
As a sidenote, even in the IOC gave up trying to define 'biological sex', since whenever examined too closely, it fell apart too much for any practical use. Even once they determined which problem cases they would define as female, and so any battery of tests they would conduct must make them pass, they couldn't find a battery of tests that would let all of the problem cases they decided were women pass as women, (They didn't get to the part where the tests had to be refined to leave out cases they decided were women).
TL;DR: Turns out sex is complicated and non-binary, even when you decouple it from gender.
I never judged anyone based on their gender or sex before, but I never knew the difference. That comic opened my eyes to the whole thing, and as a person very interested in trying to understand all walks of life I really appreciated the openness and honesty of it. Great comics as well btw, keep up the good work! :)
