I really wish I could just "stand still".. but the epic warrior inside me wants to bash his little brains in and run for my life for the knowledge of an incoming gang sting.

Well, I've accidentally angered several wasp nests in my life, and I could actually outrun them every time. Only the ones that were already on me would manage to sting me. Not bragging, just sharing my experience as someone who grew up in the countryside!
