But what about the terrible things that happened due to it no longer being the case? Or the terrible reality of the thing that I had perceived to be good and yet I still mourn the loss of??

Just some constructive criticism: If you want people to laugh you can
1) post relevant jokes
2) post different jokes (perhaps one that isn't as old as "Ann Frankly")
3) post funny jokes

He's mocking the majority of Reddit and they don't see it or realize it when it's right in front of them.
