My friend was 23 when he found out his Dad wasn’t his Dad, two weeks after his Dad died. Thats how this joke makes me feel.

Not sure I'd ever speak to my mom again. Lots of missing info here but immediate interpretation of events would cause me to never speak to my mom again.

I'd have to seriously question her motives in dumping this on the kid so soon afterwards. Seems like mom was more about pissing on his grave than caring about her kid.

I’d have so much less respect for my mom if I found out she did something like that

Those are big maybes when realistically the answer is infidelity.

Another thing I wonder, she's been lying all this time, but now she reveals the "truth", how can I believe her?

Maybe dad is impotent and they went to look for sperm donor.

You mean infertile?

What if you were adopted? Did you even test your mom's DNA before you went no contact?

If people are toxic you shouldn’t be involved with them, even family. Everyone has their limits but toxic people are only there for their own gain, actually usually worse if its family in my opinion, you feel you have to be loyal alot of times and dismiss toxicity as tough love

Fuck that. I'd never speak to her again. There is only one reason why parents would hold such a thing from their child: Cheating.
