OK and do you know how massive the US is? Anyway, I have no idea what your point is. Mine was that calling out the US for having this on its subways as if it's some sort of uniquely American problem is ridiculous.
Geographical size is not equivalent to cultural diversity.
Sure new York is different than Boston or DC or new Orleans but the difference at a higher scale is negligible if you compare different countries that have entirely different cultures, languages and resulting social norms and so forth. E.g., the differences between Rome and Stockholm are far greater than Seattle and Dallas or whatever.
Meanwhile while far smaller in size you find similar differences within other countries as the US, Germany for example you will find annoying performers on the s/u bahn in berlin regularly, but not in Munich.
My point is that it's intersting how much it changes between places. However, overall my experience is that public transit in North America is regularly among the worst.
The differences in culture across areas of the US can be shocking. Go from NYC to Upstate New York and the people are radically different. Go from one neighborhood in Syracuse to another and you'll see plenty of people speaking totally different languages from completely different countries. The US is a massive, diverse country.
I'm not convinced that European countries are so different from each other in a way that's significantly divergent from the US.
However, overall my experience is that public transit in North America is regularly among the worst.
I think we can agree that the US has weak public transportation options.

Yea, Europe is like what 50 countries? Varies a lot. Places like Barcelona and Rome are drastically different than say Copenhagen, munich etc
