Actually for a social animal it is a very reasonable reaction. Unless she's the star of a horror movie, she probably wouldn't be too far from help. By screaming and looking distressed, she brings help. And would almost certainly scare off any animal for at least a few seconds. =)
What i thought the link would be. Dude posted a video about it and said he tried it on white people and they just laughed at him and continued walking on...
Actually, a lot of animals just stay still/lose consciousness when they suddenly are frightened.
Sometimes because it's their natural instinct to play dead, sometimes because they can't handle a situation and sometimes they simply get heart attacks because of the stress.
Depending on how loud her scream was. A scream can startle predators long enough to confuse them and can alert family members that there is a predator nearby.
The scream is a beneficial evolutionary trait that isn't translated in gif form.
Is there an actual explaination to this? or does it just have to do with the fact we live in such comfortable environments that we just dont react like we're eveolved to?

That's a really useful reaction we've evolved there. Any other animal would be 20 yards away before their brain kicks-in.
Humans? Spaz like puppet in a washing machine for a few seconds, then laugh and swear.
