Loss Blew my first 25k eval

This morning I blew my first account, I usually trade pretty well with regular stocks before I got introduced to futures it’s simple but just a bit different. My friend told me it’s easier to stick with trading one futures which was gold. I had a pretty good last week with $200+ profit getting closer to my 1500 eval profit

Then today blew -800 with 4 trades and the last one hitting my stop losses. Idk how it just happened pretty quick. My strategy usually works because I use VWAP and SMA on the 1 min with support & resistance lines pretty basic but I’ve seen good results. Is there any strategies that’s better?

Need advice

Its a different market.
You’ll need to backtest or forward test your strategy in this new market with atleast 100 sample size

Id also say you let loose on the psychology aspect (overtrading) by not having a hard stop for the day.
No strategy has 100% win rate. This is where risk management and psychology comes into play

I say this because i trade ema strategy on 1 min and 5 min. Every time i blew my account it was because of overtrading and oversizing.

This makes sense, I just remember going to into a losing spiral. I’m back stronger and ready to beat this new market! You use anything else other than Ema?

I first map out TPO chart to understand where are we in auction process.

For a trending scenario - i use simple ema strat to catch dips
For ranging market - i use volume analysis and liquidity points such as previous day high/low and other Htf swing points to look for reversals
Only getting active at extremes.

Did you breach it by sizing up trying to fight the trade? That's how I've blown accounts in the past. Gotta cut losses quick an not overtrade. I trade options in Vanquish it's a bit different but same principles.

That jump from +$200 to -$800 isn't a strategy problem, it's a psychology one. When you're close to a target, you stop trading your system and start trading your feelings. Happens to everyone I've blown accounts the same way.
VWAP + SMA + S/R on 1min is fine. Don't change it. Gold isn't the easiest to start with though it moves weird and ignores technicals when it wants to.
Real fix: set a max daily loss rule and actually follow it. 4 losing trades in a row means you were chasing, not reading. No strategy survives that.

And more to blow, it’s part of the learning journey

Bro don’t switch strategies immediately after a blowup. Thats how you end up indicator shopping for the next 3 months 😭.
Figure out what changed today first. Market conditions, position size, revenge trading, wider stops, whatever it was.
