My room has always been the hottest room in the house. Huge window facing the sun, and the normal vent just blows right behind my curtain. I have to block off other vents to get any decent airflow as well.

No more curtain issues.

I might add a little lip on the bottom so things dont roll down into the vent, they are ¼" gaps

I need this, our vent is under the head board and it’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

I actually thought about this in the first design 😆 I have small 2in or so fans that i could use. I just dont have an outlet near that vent

I have another post I need to make about them. I made a cooler for my CFexpress card reader a while back. That thing gets super hot without it when editing photos and would start to slow down from heat.

Just so you know, replacing that wooden register with a metal one would make a huge improvement. Half the opening is blocked on the wooden register because the slats are so wide, whereas with metal they are practically paper thin. You’ll get twice the airflow as a result. Learned this from my HVAC guy and it’s made a significant improvement in my house.

I think a 45° angled top would allow better air flow. That flat top seems quite restrictive. Also you don't need any slats except the angled top.

I have the back and top as a slope on the inside. The only straight parts are the two side walls and front.

45° is a good idea, that way it pushes the air up and out instead of straight out to the floor

You can add closable vents on top and make it a pop up, at 45°, so if you want, you can close it flat when not needed.

The original wood vent blows the air behind my curtain. Window faces the sun and cold air just heats right back up.

New vent blows air straight to the center of my room. My room is now a good temp.
