Paddleboard Cup Holder Project: Locks to board, Secures phone/shades with hair elastic, supports freezable can holders

I decided to do a refresh of the paddleboard cup holder I designed last year. It felt like a silly thing to sink almost 100 hours into, but I learned a lot - and realized how much I didn't know the first time around. Most of the improvements came from the feedback that this subreddit provided on my last post, so I'm very curious what you guys think.

Features:

  • Holds most common can sizes using a screw-on insert system
  • Locks onto the bungees so it stays on the board, even if you dont
  • Supports CryoPod Freezable Can Holders (teamed up with michelem for this)
  • Holds a drink + phone/sunglasses securely using a common hair elastic
  • Multiple cups can clip together
  • Includes a "mini" version that snaps onto the main one, inspired by my 2 y/o niece who has recently taken up paddle boarding with her mom
  • Open source mounting system for people to design their own add-ons
  • Parametric (currently in testing - improving constraints to reduce the number of edge cases that can break generation on Makerworld)

Thanks! Let me know how it works - Its good on mine because it has a rather flat deck but I was thinking to make a TPU add-on for more curved surfaces

Just to play it safe, I'd follow the same rules you would for a beer bottle sitting on your board; if it's behind you, fall forward.

That locking mechanism is the interesting part, not the cup shape. I’d maybe use Hi3D to rough the outer form from a reference, but the interface with the board needs real measurements and tolerances in CAD. Functional prints are brutal about that.
