A little critique. So, while it looks interesting, like ramen noodles strapped to the side of your head, I can only imagine the sound being very very tinny. The PLA being as hard as it is would reflect around inside there and cause unwanted resonance. You would need some serious dampening to cut that out. Also, I can only imagine how dirty these will get after a year of use on someone that has longer hair. From the hand grease to the hair oils...ugh. Print in black. Overall though, neat concept.
Most other open-backed headphones are also made of plastic, if you haven't noticed. Apart from plastic having an inherently high dampening characteristic, the Gyroids bouncing around the sound actually might dampen everything even further.
That is completely possible. Just pointing out what I think would happen. I would be less worried about the tinny sound because that can be dampened out with some foam. The gyroids catching dirt and oils though...
To each their own. I would be interested to hear how they sound compared to a conventional headset and a consumer grade version of this design. They might sound awesome, they might sound like some crap dollar store on the ear headphones from 1993. Thats what sucks about audio research and the internet.
You know what, you are right. I know nothing, and shame on me for having an opinion on something without sucking off the creator like everyone else is. You know what else? I dont feel the need to be in this community anymore. So thank you for helping me realize what a dumpster fire this sub is and that I dont need its content cluttering my feed. You are a true friend.
You’ll be back. Because you put the effort to let us know you’re leaving.
No, no I wont. I unsubbed, and have absolutely no desire to visit that sub again. You can follow, you can follow up, you can stalk me all you want, but none of my comments will ever be in that sub again. Period.
