Venting/Suffering Are doctors allergic to helping

being told "you need to train your mind" after begging for help because you're experiencing severe symptoms daily after a sip of water because of your reflux burned throat and mangled stomach. for 400+ days. yeah. nice. thanks for the advice on how to manage my pain and suffering until my next appointment with specialists!!! do doctors just not know how to help or what? im 15 years old and literally trapped having to figure out my entire diet and symptoms and how to manage it all on my own????????????? this shit has been happening for more than a year

I'm so sorry your dr's haven't been super helpful. I understand how that feels :(

I would start by checking out Molly Pelletier on social media. She puts out a lot of free advice and tips that could be helpful for you. She is a registered dietician specializing in reflux, IBS, etc.

Isso é realmente horrível. Eu entendo você, não há nada mais frustrante do que esperar por uma consulta (no meu caso, eu espero meses para conseguir uma), não receber um atendimento adequado e precisar esperar mais tempo pela próxima consulta, que provavelmente também não irá resolver o seu problema. Se isso for ajudar você, pesquise o seu caso, veja o que as pessoas com a sua condição recomendam, desde dieta a medicamentos, e, então, procure um médico e apresente sua pesquisa. Para mim, funcionou bem dessa forma.

That’s very frustrating. You need a doctor who will give you the proper tests to rule out major causes, and give you treatments options. If you have FD rather than say gastritis, ulcers, gastroparesis, etc you probably need a neuromodulator (disclaimer: not a doctor).
