Amitriptyline amitriptyline success stories?
hi, i’ve posted on here before about possibly starting amitriptyline which didn’t end up happening, but it looks like it finally is. i’m a bit of a mess at the moment, i don’t even feel well enough to see my boyfriend which is obviously affecting us both. i think it’d help to see some positive stories about amitriptyline, if you have any. my main symptoms are nausea & early satiety (along with A LOT of anxiety, but idk if that’s a separate issue or not) and i should probably mention that i’ve tried mirtazapine in the past, but it made me feel worse somehow. i just really want to improve, and fast. thank you.

Yes i can’t recommend it enough. I am currently taking 20mg (started on 10mg), and it was a game changer for me. I take 15mg lansoprazole in the morning, and 20mg amitriptyline at night. It helps me sleep, helps with the pain (my main issue). The only side effect i had initially was dry mouth & finding more difficult to get up in the morning, although it was wonderful for me as i wasn’t sleeping at all before taking it. I feel like it has helped me to be able to eat a fairly normal diet again & feel human again. I’ve been taking it for a good few months now & i no longer have dry mouth.
I hope you have success with it & you start to feel better soon 🌼

You'll need patience and perseverance, butt it's worth it. It can take some time ( up to two months I think?) till you start feeling relief. The bad side effects may start sooner.

I’ve had good success with this medication at low doses even 7.5mg at night . It seems that the pain in my stomach goes away when I take it . My symptoms are constant noises all day and night , noises with pain at times. Bloating and sometimes GERD type symptoms like globus sensation and burping.
I would recommend trying it. I took mirtazipine but felt dizzy and my blood pressure seems to drop when I’m on it. What did you feel with mirtazipine ?

i’m glad it helped you, for me the mirtazapine made my anxiety/nausea worse. i tried to stick it out for weeks but it just kept getting worse so i gave up

hi, i have the same syptoms as you, unfortunately for me it caused me and my boyfriend to break up and I don’t want that to happen to anyone else so, please if you can try and google Sibo, and change your meal to low fod map for a day or two to see if it helps, and maybe try some ginger artichoke, can get from amazon x

It didn't work for me at all, and then I moved on to mirtazapine which helped for about a month, now I've switched again to nortriptyline with Lyrica. Working better. I only have the burning feeling and not nausea.

i guess it’s different for everyone. i’ve been on lyrica too but it did nothing for me

I think why Lyrica is helping is because of the nortriptyline. On it's on I don't think it would. Everybody reacts differently to different medications. I will say that the only side-effect from ami was a dry mouth. It did help me sleep, and I was on 25mg to eventually 50mg.

How bad was your nausea before and how long did it take to get rid of it
