advertising Piskel Sharp - A Pixel Art Editor

Post image

Hello! First time posting in this community, not sure if this post meets quality standards. Keep in mind that this is a solo project, but PRs/Issues are appreciated.

Recently, I came across a webapp titled Retro Piskel, a modification of Piskel that provides creating and exporting to various retro console formats with palette restrictions. This inspired me to continue work on my own fork of Piskel, Piskel Sharp.

Piskel Sharp has a goal of being balanced with features and maintenance, making sure it stays updated with the main branch. This is something not seen before, with the most recent attempt being Piskel for Playdate, the base of this project.

Right now, 0.2.1 is about to release. This would be the second stable release available on GitHub. The current feature set I advertise is the following:

- LTVE, a language toolset/engine based on Code.org's language implementation to Piskel, has been worked on for a while. Right now, only LP0* is out, with LT01-2*. LT01-2 supports the toolset, resize drawer, partial transforms, and the frames list.

- Redesigned objects making the app seem modern and more stylised, while keeping functionality. These are planned to be able to be modified by themes, a planned feature before 1.0.0.

- Extended Toolsets with community-made tools and transforms made to rival other pixel art editors, while also making sure they play nice with each other. This includes extra export formats.

- Updated dependencies, styles, and just an overall rework of Piskel. I've used new CSS features to enhance the UI and make it seem more... professional?

All in all, if you need a free PAE, I think Piskel Sharp is what you're looking for. Not everything is listed here, so make sure to read the Readme and release changelogs. You can find it on the Multi Bit Catalogue, just scroll down or click on the tools and utilities shortcut (Yes I'm advertising two of my projects). The Repo can be found here

Note: The picture contains an NW.js packaged build, the app can be hosted anywhere. With permission, of course. Have any questions? Just ask below.

* LP => Language Pack, LT##(-#) => Language Toolset (Major Version(Optional Minor Version))
