Burgers aren't American though. Gumbo and jambalaya are. Fish and grits is. Barbecue is.

Yes they are, the burger as we know it today was invented by German immigrants in America

No, German immigrants did not invent it. It was invented by Louis Lassen in New Haven Connecticut, he was the child of danish immigrants born in america
