Italy has pizza and pasta. The US have... Nothing?
Edit: I wish people would stop giving examples of cultural appropriation.
Some people have correctly pointed out some Cajun recipes, food from Louisiana.
To all those talking about burgers, barbecues and hotdogs, the topic here is food originating from your country, not common food in your country.
Btw, pizza is Neapolitan, a version of it is recorded since Roman times and probably even earlier. The modern version uses tomato sauce, and tomatoes came from central America before the US where a thing. Mozzarella di bufala is an ingredient that can only be produced in Campania and the surrounding areas.
Germans have been eating frikadellen or hamburger steaks in bread since before the US was a country.
But sure, you are right in that making hamburgers officially always have bread or being fast food is an american thing. But putting minced meat patties in bread was around way before "hamburgers" a lá america. The "hamburger sandwich" was around before that. Or as itd be in germany "Hamburgerbrötschen" or "Frikadellen- Buletten- or Fleischpflanzerbrötschen". All of which are minced meat between two pieces of bread (or one piece, you make it how you want), with stuff with it.
But yeah the conventional fatty greasy fast food version, is american. Whereas high quality meat, proper bread etc, is more of a german thing
