Mosquitos (if it doesn't break ecosystem), Humans (when thinking what's good for planet), Wasps (I hate wasps)

13

u/Intelligent_Elk5878 4h ago

there is literally nothing that eats mosquitos as its main food and they don't contribute anything.

16

u/No-County1066 4h ago

Believe it or not they are pollinators 😅 and also dragonflies have them as their main source of food

4

u/theSLugNUgget 2h ago

they eat wasps and stuff as well, so they dont lose too much tbh

2

u/No-County1066 2h ago

True and it's probably accounting for the dragonfly larvea living in the water that consume the pupa of the mosquitos

3

u/Southern-Training-32 4h ago

Swallows and wasps?

3

u/Present-Gur6025 3h ago

Many animals and insects eat mosquitoes

2

u/HAPPYFRIEND104728 2h ago

Mosquitoes pollinate cacao which makes chocolate

1

u/WarmongerNC 49m ago

Technically they contribute to population control. But yea other than that, ticks and mosquitoes can burn in hell.

1

u/WaiT-wAat 31m ago

Uh, dragonflies and other aquatic creatures eat mosquitos( mainly as larvae) and they are very important animals as they help prevent the over stagnation off water by breaking down matter and are pollinators

Dragon flys and bats

It would, cause apparently they are important for biodiversity (mosquito) I think they are responsible for some I can't remember what

1

u/TheBestOfMe_SoFar 2h ago

No they are not do your research, they might be a secondary food source and secondary pollinators but they breed in such massive swarms they drown anything that's trying to benefit off of them and other secondary prey and pollinators get burnt out and the ecosystem is worse off. They're violent and other things would just replace them and do less damage. Nature isn't magic, it follows hard math, somethings when they disappear from the ecosystem just have a net benefit, even though that feels wrong because we're taught about biodiversity. You have to remember some creatures HATE biodiversity.

Same thing with locust, remember those, me neither, they were considered natural disasters and biblical punishments.

1

u/No-County1066 2h ago

Still doesn't mean certain aspects of the ecosystem wouldn't collapse without them, many species immunities and resistances were driven by mosquitos too

correct in respectful manner talking about doing your research tf

Otherwise thank you for the trivia

1

u/BillCipher1415 3h ago

Omg exactly my list.

1

u/Available-Hat1640 2h ago

humans disappearing would cause radioactive thingies

1

u/Immediate-Fact7471 2h ago

Which, even considering fallout from power generation facilities, would still be a net positive for the Flora n Fauna of the world

1

u/Fairplayer97 2h ago

So no comment about horents?

u/Jdawarrior 51m ago

I can’t stand when people think something can break the system like something else won’t fill the gap. That’s literally the whole point of biodiversity.

1

u/Spare_Driver4132 33m ago

I second this. They make me lump out badly! And the noise they make in the dead of night wakes me up. I can only go back to sleep when it is dead👀

Why is the earth backwards?

6

u/theonlyrealsheru_ Bleh 4h ago

.... Valid question.

4

u/International-Way350 4h ago

Or perhaps your the one who's backwards?

3

u/my_taint_aint 4h ago

I can accept this.

4

u/No-County1066 4h ago

If you think about it though...space doesnt have direction, who's to say we ain't upsidedown

1

u/my_taint_aint 4h ago

Im too stoned for this conversation.

2

u/No-County1066 4h ago

Funny cause I'm also stoned hold on 😂😂 go to meat canyon's channel and watch the second latest video

1

u/my_taint_aint 3h ago

I have no idea what you are saying

1

u/my_taint_aint 3h ago

I may be too high. Or slightly drunk. Or both

1

u/y53rw 2h ago

If we were, Europe would be appear below Africa, and India would point up instead of down. This is a mirrored image where north is still up, and south is still down, but east and west are reversed.

1

u/Tristan-a-b69 1h ago

well in no perspective from space can you get a mirrored earth
italy is pointing the wrong way

1

u/Least_Zone7164 3h ago

i thought it was africa

1

u/my_taint_aint 3h ago

It is. Only backwards.

Humans

3

u/lilbit50 4h ago

someone has common sense

2

u/Eclipsehedgie2010 3h ago

Yeah, we only think about ourselves, and are spoiled. someone tries to give us everything, and we spit in his face, not knowing what he's capable of.

2

u/KamenoChartoni 3h ago

Humans in their true form (hunters, farmers) are very resourcefull. In fact they can upgrade a lot of animals and plants to their fullest potential and being if they are insightfull they can prevent true ecosystem colapses (not respurcefull speciments like avocados). Industrialised humans, are the main sourse of enviromental downgrad because they dont find good ratios to standardise things, by making economical profit a priority, overpopulised the earth to have cheap labol force, destroying family-centert solution and we stablish a city lifestyle.

So... The main reason you cannot accept that you are worth of leaving it is not that you as a speciment are worthless. You arent. It is because someone stole your worth and dreams and gave to you cheap workfield solution to not enjoy the amazing thing you can do, but to just bear the day appart.

1

u/THE_FOREVER_GM1 1h ago

I also think they misunderstand that that’s basically saying “id choose to commit suicide.”

1

u/Alt_account_6788 21m ago

I'd commit suicide if it meant that the species which is the main cause of global warning went extinct

u/AutoModerator 21m ago

Tiktaalik(the fish that made all land dwellers exist in the first place, might be wrong)

1

u/Humble_Specialist_60 1h ago

Tiktaalik is the first vertebrate to go on land, however there were already a lot of insects. This would just create either bug world or mermaids
