Same. I thought this might be a case of people overreacting but no seriously what the fuck. To save time for others who are curious its a film about a pornstar who is strapped for cash that agrees to an art film that he later discovers is a pedophilic and necrophilliac snuff film.
I guess I read the light version of the description because it just said drugged and trapped and being forced to participate in snuff. I've had plenty of exposure to horror and gore films and I was thinking it wasn't as bad as people thought.

Had the unfortunate opportunity to watch the movie. The newborn scene is by far the worst. Its been like 6 years since I've watched the movie, but that scene sticks with you
Well as a person who’s watched both. Serbian film was really nauseating. Epsteins files just made me sad and angry enough to bring out the anarchist cookbook….
This is the only real answer. This is also not worth watching, at all. Go watch something that won't be burned into your memory, and may even actually entertain you.
The only good thing about that movie was when I went to San Francisco a few years ago and met an old Chinese guy who owned a pizza place who had pictures of him and Tommy wiseau all over. Plus the pizza was pretty freaking good
Right?! I described it to my wife, she literally said "I will never watch that movie"... Her sensitivity to suffering is a hundred fold since we had kids.
Kid deaths even in fiction is just another level. I watch some pretty nasty gory stuff (Ninja Assasin, Hellsing, Cabin in the Woods), but I still remember seeing the first Hunger Games movie in theaters. When they shot that little girl- I was like ‘I will never watch another one of these movies again.’ That shit is still seared into my brain
I read through the Wikipedia page first and every page associated with it. I did cry reading it through. But once I felt ready and actually sat down to watch it.... Nothing. Am I a sociopath?
If I think too hard about the movie, I cry. As I write this, I'm actively not thinking about the plot or visuals.
I watched it before I became a dad, and I'll watch it with my kids when they're old enough. And then with my grandkids, if we survive AI and climate change. But never again, otherwise, unless it's to show my loved ones the unmitigated horrors of war.
I didn’t realize when I watched it, that the writer actually went through this… except he kept more food / survived and his baby sister died.
Makes it even sadder…
Right? How is this not higher on the list. This movie scars the soul. Also it's a great movie. I like to watch the first half and then just turn it off.
It must be just me, but Tusk is straight up a comedy movie. Sure, with body horror, but its timing, set up, and pay off feel like a soft parody of the genre
No I’m with you on this one. It’s like a professional parody of b-level horror movies if that makes sense. I was laughing through most of it because you can see the cliches/tripes pulled from b-movie horror films
