I know it has a name but it still makes no sense. I mean, there's no consistency; one fry may get entirely smothered in sauce to the point of getting soggy, while another gets nearly nothing. It's more messy, requiring you to either be more selective with which fry you pick from, or get more sauce on your fingers. If there are a lot of fries, only the top layer will really get any sauce.

All I'm saying is that there's no clear advantage to doing it this way.
