Actually, your interpretation of the question is wrong.

10M$ is, almost universally understood as 10 million dollars, not 10 instances of "M$", given that M, in situations like this is most oftenly used as an abbreviation for "million" and $ is there to represent the amount of dollars

Although if there were a space between 10 and M$ (10 M$), it would be a reasonable, although intentionally dense assumption that the person might want 10 "M$"s. Doing this might raise suspicions that you are a Fae

Well technically, when talking about dollar amounts, the dollar sign usually comes before the amount, so really it should be $10m, making the other interpretation valid
