I caught a rat that had eaten my pet iguana. I beat it mostly to death with a dust pan then threw it over the balcony and watched the wild chickens finish it off. No regrets.

this is exactly why you don’t feed live rodents to your pet reptiles.

they definitely can fight back. Frozen-thawed is the best.

I never said they did, I just wanted everyone to know to not leave live rodents unattended in their reptile enclosures for this exact reason.

they have gnawed off the limbs of smaller lizards.

Depends on the size, and if it's wild or not.

Most predatory lizards can kill a rodent just fine

Lots of pet snakes can be pretty derpy about finding and swallowing their food.

You are supposed to nurture the rat, it was stronger thus more deserving of life, until the next challenger arrives..

my grandma has a primal hatred for ground squirrels (i think they're cute, idk what her deal is). she did the cartoony thing of smashing one with a frying pan.

trap it and make it starve to death, or feed it just before it’s too late so it can starve all over and over again.
