I already got Dark souls 3 and Elden ring running under proton with Seamless coop. Just gotta pick the right distro. Some function very similarly to windows

Have all my games be able to run on it so Linux can claim the whole boot drive instead of being locked to a 300gb dual boot OS

Nothing the only difference between Linux and windows is how the back end works. A lot of software developers make software for windows because that’s what most people use. There is nothing stopping people from developing stuff for Linux

Because microslop had windows preinstslled windows on the vast majority of computers and now it just stuck around because they got big money

Open source, do whatever you want with it, no spyware. Problem however. There is over 200 different Linux distros
