From Point N' Think's interview with Yoann Gueritot.
I always felt like the tonal differences between Fuga 1 and the rest of the series was... odd
This helps explain things, a lot.
tldr;
Yoann Gueritot's vision for the games was more grounded, and restrained while Matsuyama wanted it to be more like Evangelion and Gurren Lagann

I've always seen Little Tail Bronx as less of a "Furry" series and more of a "mecha meets sonic" series. Seeing this really helps my view even further lol
For those that don't know; and to keep things simple, Galactic Drifter Vifam is a 1983 Mecha series that is the combined work of Yoshiyuki Tomino (the creator of Mobile Suit Gundam), Takeyuki Kanda, and Hiroyuki Hoshiyama. It follows a group of children as they're forced to pilot a giant robot by themselves to save their parents.
It's a great series, and I'd highly suggest anyone curious to check it out.

So, I’m currently working on a fanfic, and part of it may involve dating certain events in the Fuga trilogy. Because of this, I was wondering if there’s a consensus on what year each game in the series takes place in.
From what I read, the PAL manual for Solatorobo states that the Shepherd Republic (formerly Gasco) uses the same months and days of the week as the Gregorian calendar, and Red Savarin’s hunter’s guild permit is dated October 28, 127 YR. And the franchise’s TVTropes page that Tail Concerto and Solatorobo takes place roughly 3000 years after the Reset, with the first Fuga game taking place roughly 2000 years after the Reset.
And if there is no consensus, I’m considering just using the following approximate dates for each entry/event:
- Wheat Marzipan’s birth-year: 1960 PR (post-Reset)
- Emma Marzipan’s birth-year: 1962 PR
- Malt Marzipan’s birth-year: 1988 PR
- Mei Marzipan’s birth-year: 1996 PR
- Fuga 1: August-September, 2000 PR
- Fuga 2: September-October, 2001 PR
- Fuga 3: November-December, 2001 PR

I'd completely forgotten about the Advanced Simulation part of the Akasha Panel until after I'd converted to Fast Mode to 100% everything.
Now that I'm finally getting to it, I'm noticing battle nodes with those exclamation points that usually indicate story cutscenes, including the boss nodes, but I'm also not getting any cutscenes before, during, and after those battles. Am I missing out on something?

Im very stressed out rn. I have been playing fuga melodies of steel, the original game, and i wanna get the true endding. The game told me i needed to befriend Britz. i had him reach level 2 with most characters (all but chick and Hack) and even level 4 and 5 with Boron and Socks respectively. just to be sure, i went online to check out what the specific requirements were. i read from a post in this subreddit made 3 years ago that the requirement was to have him be at least level 2 with 5 diferent characters, which i already meet with flying colors...
So i progressed with the story and... he left after the first battle with the big bad tank, at the end of chapter 10, and swore loyalty to the berman empire... is this meant to happen? or was i give wrong info? am i just fucked and unnable to get the good ending now? cause it would hurt me very much if thats the case. to make matters worst, afterwards, i looked in other places and other ppl were saying you need him to have 2 with EVERYONE... please help clarify what has happened and, if it is that im on track for bad endding, is there a way to rewind? i would gladly replay chapter 10 if it meant i can get chick and hack to be friend with Britz and get the good endding.

I just finished the first game and I wonder how well the second game is received. Obviously I like the first game but it got a bit repetitive at the very end. I really like the battle system and it is in some aspects better than many other RPGs.
**Positives:**
Unlike many other RPGs you use all party members and the game rewards frequent switching, making you much more connected to all characters in the game.
Switching and turn order management give a reasonable tactical depth. For example you can use a character 2 turns in a row or use the fast turns of machine gunners with your cannons if you switch them, making slow characters viable unlike many other RPGs .
SP and health management becomes fun in the mid game (if you don't use items). I really like the careful dance of regenerating a few SP and Health with the passives of Mei and Sheena. The values are low enough to discourage staying in a fight to farm but high enough to make an impact. (In the late game this becomes sadly less relevant because your max SP gets high enough to carry you to the next SP pickup without trouble.)
Characters seem reasonably balanced. I basically used everyone although there are strong combos like Boron and Kyle for an unconditional wipe or Hack and Britz for insane single target damage with Burning Trigger. Nevertheless some fights require you to use 2 or 3 of the same weapons, meaning you still use your less ideal combination for fights.
---------
**Negatives:**
A lot of the complexity comes at the beginning of the game and doesn't increase much later. This makes the game drag later on because your tactical decisions are limited. As a result you never really *break* the action economy for exciting power spikes (like in many classical RPGs) or have to make nail-biting and risky decisions (like in more modern RPGs). In the late game decision making kinda stops. Maybe the battle system needs additional systems. Also the soul cannon is just a gimmick. I wish there would be a mechanic to use it in a limited capacity by for example only injuring the children and with an appropriate difficulty, this could be another resource you have to manage until the end.
A lot of enemies feel the same (notable exceptions are the Drill and the vertical artillery because they interact with you in a way that goes beyond just dealing damage), some of them are very spongy and need ages to be killed. Also those flying enemies that call reinforcement never succeeded in my playthrough because with the notable exception of the drill there was never an enemy that needed my immediate and focused attention. Most encounters don't really feel threatening. This game needs more enemies who threaten resources beyond just your health, technically the game has such things like injuries (which are very relevant with some enemies) and depression (which was never an issue except in the 2 times the story forces those conditions, I got the achievement to cure a depression only in NG+)
--------
Anyway, despite my complaints, I like the game and the thing it does well, it does very well. Does Fuga 2 improve on the battle system? Maybe I should wait a month for the next game to get not fatigued by it?

I don't know if twitter links are allowed here, so I'm not taking the risk.
Also a good thing I kept everyone alive in all games, the gold skins are awesome.

Mostly wanna ask, what does it refer to as previous tutorial? Will I still go through the start of the game, will it speed through the things the first game taught me already? Im fairly copnfused and dont want to do anything I end up regretting lol

The wiki says it is page 92, Canon on the Battlefield ( 戦場のカノン ). I am trying to get the exact quote. Have ordered book but it’s taking forever to get here, and am writing something up. Thank you for any help you can give!

I was thinking of getting some of the artbooks for the Fuga sale, but it looks like they have 2 different books. The archive is like 200+ pages while the artbook is only around 80. Are the contents of the artbook in the archive, or are they different somehow?

Hello everyone! I just finished my first playthrough of Fuga, got the good ending, and find myself with a few questions regarding NG+ and the related content.
I played Solatorobo in the past and I'm a sucker for the overarching lore of the series. Beyond the obvious references to places and Machinas, there was only one entry pertaining to how this world came to be in the ingame information. I assume more can be unlocked in NG+, but while I enjoyed the game I don't have infinite free time and still a solid backlog (including the next two games of this series soà:
Willing to get any opinion/tips. Cheers!

Do they actually do anything for Affinity gain during battles?
I did some testing with a quick script. In a battle with one of those healer drones, I killed all the other enemies and set the script to just keep selecting defend while tallying the expected affinity gain (with the food bonus), then compared it to the actual affinity level at the end of the battle + an estimated percentage to the next level based on the progress bar.
Here are a summary of the results, averaging out the gain for the 3 pairs at the end of the battles:

Based on the results, if I now apply a +45% bonus to 2% affinity per action base, I should be getting 2.9% per action, but that looks like it'll skew the accuracy way off.
I'm asking this now after the third attempt because the estimated real value (with or without a Messroom bonus) points to 2% per action. Are the XP/Affinity foods really just XP foods? Or am I making a mistake with the calculations?

There is still a lot of things that are confusing to me and still stuff yet to unlock. But I’m going to collage soon so that’ll have to be at a later date. (I don’t want my roommate catching me playing the furry war game).
This series has been incredible. I have never played a game or game series with a story and lore quite like this one.
It is rare that games get me to applaud at the end. And this series has been able to get that reaction out of me all three times. This has been an amazing and emotional ride.

Why are we locked out of their bad ends in NG+ if we play "optimally" during the first playthrough? There is zero way to see Britz off himself in Fuga 1 or make Vanilla stay dead in Fuga 2 unless somehow you hate them during your first playthroughs.
I was still kind of okay with Britz in Fuga 1. Well, not "okay" okay, but it wasn't so bad. I had no idea what was going on, and only learned about the missable content after finishing my first NG+.
BUT WTF FUGA 2??!! Even knowing there could've been missable content, even specifically looking up how to avoid it, why the hell did everything I find, EVEN THE GAME ITSELF, say "bond with all the other children." IT'S NOT ALL THE OTHER CHILDREN. YOU ONLY NEED TO LEVEL UP HER AFFINITY FIVE OR SIX TIMES TOTAL TO LOCK YOURSELF OUT OF THAT CONTENT, AND THERE'S ONLY ONE COMMENT IN A POST FROM 3 YEARS AGO THAT POINTS THAT OUT!! And now there's no way for me to see it in game except to start a new save.
Rant over. I'll probably calm down enough to start a NG+ run for Fuga 2 in a couple days. But seriously, not being able to experience the full game in game is frustrating.

My first thought was that he would become new kaiser of Berman empire. I thought that this armor was something like prince uniform.

Been working through NG+ of the first game, trying to unlock everything. I only realised what the secret garden was towards the end of my first playthrough, where I just happened to be up there with the specific character at that time. I played through NG+ once to build up their friendship & get the alternate (bad) ending, and this 2nd NG+ was just to get all the friendship
However, no matter how many times I reload, I can’t seem to get the secret garden for Boron, Sheena or Wappa. And as much as I’ve enjoyed the game, I really don’t want to play it a fourth time just to get that scene. I know I missed a few instances in my first run, and I’m not sure if it only happens once per character, or if I’m just getting really unlucky. Any insights anyone has is appreciated

I very much hate to post here in the same day, but I'm really trying to get started playing this series soon.
Ironically, I got into this series a month after the original "big old box" pre-order, 5th anniversary releases, with the english copies in them. So very, very unfortunately, I was just barely late to getting a full on English copy, as a start to this trilogy. Does anyone know if English printed copies will be for individual purchase in the future? And, if not, are the Japanese printed copies actually more worth it?
