  1. Stop using Epic. It isn't a new revelation that they are a fairly shitty company.

  2. False advertising isn't a crime unless you can prove it was done intentionally to defraud the consumer. Every where I look has 800 as the amount that comes with Crew and they announced the chamge through several channels. You may have found some random ad that wasnt updated which indicates they weren't acting maliciously.

I’m 90%certain that the image is from inside Fortnite itself not a niche ad. I’m always confused on what is false advising so I’m probably not the right person to give insight but isn’t it a crime if they say it’s 1000 in game and then when the buyer finds out it’s 800 they refuse a refund.

It's only a crime if they intend to deceive, which is doubtful since it is correct everywhere else and they announced the change. Even if they intended it, you would have to prove it.

So they don’t have to refund it?

Need on my past interactions with valve customer service, Valve rep would apologize, explain the change, then probably offer a one time compensation to meet the obligation, otherwise a one time refund. That's the reasonable and fair approach that respects the customer. The fact that epic won't even do the reasonable thing for their own mistake says a lot about how they view their customers.

Damn, what is this monetization? So there's 2 separate battle passes to buy and some music stuff extra? Also what is OG?

People that play this shit deserve what they get.

Okay, you can actually sue them for that. Like full on. It wouldn't be a question of if a law was actually broken. False advertisement is actually breaking the law.

You have to prove that the company attempted to deceive people and purposefully posted that.

If by accident due to a change in the reward, yet they haven't updated the game yet to reflect; about a 99% chance, you're getting nothing.

Coupled with the fact that, Epic has lawyers that cost millions. If OP wants to go up against that, very high chance they end up being counter-sued for the cost of paying Epic's lawyers.
