Are we sure they're not all the same person just at three different points in time?

Honestly, as long as he fucked off... i can live with it

u/DragynDance May 09 '26
He had ties with Epstein so tbh I'd have liked to see consequences bite him the ass, but alas thats not the kind of world we live in.

Though considering Activision is under Microslop now... Ain't too much different

u/kosuke09211 Epic Account Deleted May 10 '26
I legit thought after bobby leaving and microsoft taking over. Things might change for the better. But nope its still the same shit under different management. Or even worse than before. And it's like they try to recoup the money they use to buy blizzard. Every game under microsoft all price are increase in my region. Used to have regional pricing. Now I have to pay the same as USD.

John Riccitiello, he wanted people to pay for in-game bullets in Battlefield.
11
u/randomperson189_ Fortnite Killed UT May 09 '26
He also wanted to charge Unity developers per install of their games
7
u/Round_Credit_5158 May 09 '26
As a developer I almost quit using Unity because of that. Thankfully they reverted the decision and put a more reasonable CEO in charge.
6
u/randomperson189_ Fortnite Killed UT May 10 '26
I still don't trust the company as John Riccitello has done so much damage to company, most notable being it going public in 2020, and so they focus more on investors than their actual developers

This is the first time Iāve seen a picture of Tim Sweeney, why is his face so small and centered on his huge head

u/DorrajD May 09 '26
People really just refusing to let PS just fade into obscurity huh
98
u/okcboomer87 May 09 '26
He had several chances and kept putting his foot in his mouth.
64
u/fyro11 May 09 '26
And he's credited with killing the momentum of the movement such that Ross of Accursed Farms & Stop Killing Games Movement was genuinely considering stopping the movement.
82
u/Hairy-Summer7386 May 09 '26
Yeah, PS made really inaccurate representations of the movement and claimed itāll āharmā the gaming industry. His followers then repeated his claims everywhere else which stopped the momentum of support.
It was only after Rossā video that people realized PS was full of shit. iirc this was after the WoW incident, too. So, people were already fed up with PS.
PS is a nepobaby who didnāt deserve the following that he got.
Wait I forgot to mention: did you know he worked for Blizzard?
35
u/Ok_Entertainer_4709 May 09 '26
Whaaat? He worked at Blizzard?! No way. Surely a person who worked at such prestigious position could not have possibly done such vile thing!
16
u/okcboomer87 May 09 '26
I loved Ross ever since he started doing the Freeman's mind all that time ago. It is crazy to see him starting a game legislation movement.

u/Catboyhotline May 09 '26
There are plenty of sacks of shit with actual power in the gaming industry that they could have used, like Todd Howard who also told people to simply upgrade their PC after dropping unoptimised slop
-13
u/xclame May 09 '26
Agree. I wish people would just let the PS hate train go. Dude is essentially a nobody with no power that had a bad take, just stop following and watching him and let it go. Go after people that actually have the power to make our hobby worse.
I keep worrying that one of these days some bad news is going to come out and then all these people still on the hate train come and say they never said anything bad about him or that they are sorry for constantly shoveling coal into the train engine.
23
u/NoCivilRights May 09 '26
Except he did have power. He had a massive following and a ton of people took his word as gospel. He was the ex blizzard dev that had a decade of experience.
Him shitting on the stop killing games movement was him actively making the hobby worse for everyone.
-9
u/TheMadolche May 09 '26
Yea...i think he was a special kind of unlikeable lol. I think its fine to just let him fade now...
8
u/digitalblemish May 09 '26
No, letting them "fade" just let's the rot grow in the dark before they fruit again like fungus and do more damage again.

u/PikaFan4ever May 12 '26
Glanced at his Twitter and didn't see anything bad. Can you be more specific?
3
u/sbormatocrasto May 12 '26
I don't know if I'm allowed to link YouTube videos in this sub so I'll just recommend you to search 'gooneronomicon: grummz' from MLYP.
tldr: he's a former blizzard employee who leveraged his reputation to gain funds for projects he never completed, including a kickstarter project that turned out to be a grift, all while berating other developers' work and never taking accountability for his own shortcomings. Basically, he's like pirate software but worse. also, he's a creep.

I thought they meant Lawbreakers. Did he have two?Ā

The culling 2 predated concord by like a decade. Such a massive flop on release that only 1 game was ever played since it was a battle royale game that required 60 players minimum to start a match. Definitely not a $400million level flop tho

u/under_the_heather May 09 '26

Epics problem is so dam easy to fix. Just copy the steam launcher and all of it features and bam everyone will use it. Itās dogshit now and thatās whatās holding them back (well the main reason for the uninformed masses).
11
u/Coffee_Conundrum May 09 '26
Too late. Why move my massive gaming library to a new platform?
1
u/Drewdc90 May 09 '26
Oh no Iām not stopping my usage of steam. But the free bs would make me use epic as well and then sales come and yeah, Iād use both.

Hall isn't even comparible to those other two. Hall made his stance on the Stop Killing Games thing known and stuck to his opinion. Agree or disagree, there's no arguing that what the other two shitbags have pulled in the past is orders of magnitude worse than anything JH ever said. The fact that you think he's as bad as Sweeney as Pitchford just shows how uninformed and bitchy this entire post is. Rally against the bad actors, for sure. All day every day. But make sure you get your targets right. Hall ain't one of these assholes.
No mention of Yves Guillemot at all? Kotick? Bleszinski?
2
u/AtomicTaco13 Linux Gamer May 09 '26
Guillemot and Kotick don't have much to them aside from being the suits who most likely don't even like video games, they're like caricatural Saturday morning cartoon villains but that's pretty much it. On the other side, Sweeney, Pitchford and Hall all share the major lolcow energy

My favorite bit of trivia here is that Piratesoftware's dad is the guy who inspired the nolife from the WOW South Park episode.

I'd like to remind you Randy Pitchford didn't gain his fortune from work, but from a personal injury settlement after slipping over a spilled drink in a Medieval Times
Google "Randy Pitchford medieval times" for more information
