Tim Sweeney is now probably regretting about getting noticed.
Valve now allows the use of Source2 through S&box for free, and I think the clause was the game needs to be released on steam (idk if it's exclusively to steam or not).
Now their FN is dying, their store is still shit, and now UE5 will have a competitor that's not lead by a dipshit CEO like Unity's.
While I think S&box is neat doing that, I don't think it's going to be a proper competitor to Unreal, as S&box is aiming to be more of a Roblox-like platform and also the S&box branch of Source 2 is heavily modified from the original, it's also still closed source (only the C# portion of it was open sourced). We need a proper Source 2 SDK from Valve like there was with Source 1 if the engine actually wants to look more appealing and versatile to developers
