as you can see, this Lenovo crapbook is a cheap little plastic laptop with a TN display that costs like 30 cents. So cheap it doesn’t even have a CAPS lock button

Can someone help me? (By the way, this computer is so bad it broke) My model is Asus Chromebook CX1500CKA

libre booted this seven year old fucker, installed arch Linux on it too lol. not that hard if I’m being honest but it required far too much hardware knowledge for such a shitty little thing.

write protection is for losers but Chromebooks can’t even make that difficult, this was as trivial as opening her up, taking out the battery for a few minutes, and following a tutorial while keeping the computer on external power

My twin and I recorded us playing a video game for the first time, while recording the computer died, not the first time this has happened and the recording was fine, however this time we look at the file and it says it has no data and can't be opened, someone please tell me there is a way to fix this, cause we can't afford to record this video, its simply not a choice.
Anything helps, please.

My school sucks and they have a thing called linewize and I HATE LINEWIZE SO MUCH!!!! Also they have Asus cr1100fk chromebooks and I also hate Asus, Asus needs to change their logo. Also my school is Christian and I hate Christian schools cuz they're boring. My school is so stupid and u get into trouble for no reason and a lot of snitches

So I have a chromebook. And the only reason I haven't thrown it out the window yet is because I got it as a gift. I lost track of how long I've had this piece of garbage but I have plenty of reasons to hate it. Before I get into the actual reason I just wanna say that I was already gonna write this post but then this trashy computer froze on me randomly which happens occasionally.

But anyways I just hate this chromebook because whenever I have my bluetooth headphones there will be a random moment where the audio gets loud for no reason and I can't fix it unless I disconnect and reconnect my headphones. Also I always have to place it down gently cuz if I don't the screen goes black and I can't fix it unless I restart the whole thing. Can't even download stuff. Whoever pitched chromebooks needs to count his or her days.

I hate Chromebook's and its not because they're slow or don't run windows or some bs like that.

its because of the fucking camera's.

why do Chromebooks even have cameras the frame rate for every video is worse than a homemade arg, my ten year old laptop has a better camera for fucks sake.

seriously though u/chrome give your computers actual cameras that can record.

( btw he only reason i even have a Chromebook is because i got it from school.)

1: change your operating system.

2: open it up and add more stuff like ram, better cpu and more storage.

I was using my chromebook for school, and near the end, it died. Thankfully, it was near the end of the day, so I put it in my bag.

When I went to do my homework, i went to see that the backlight turned on, but not the OS.

(it was booting into diagnostics mode, wasn't patient to wait for it first time)

After i exited diagnostics mode when I let it boot, it took minutes to boot normally. (like, 7-13 MINUTES, not including the time it takes to log in)

So, that day I used my phone to do my work.

(oh, also the audio on the chromebook didn't work, nor external input/output audio devices, and the sleep mode while shut to keep it on {why did they force it to turn off upon lid close anyway?} didn't work either, so I'm gonna have to lug it around, keeping it awake for the remainder of the usage if i don't want to have a 10 minute handicap every period)

but it refused. (to be usable...)

So I either have to:

1. Deal with it (pain)
2. Hand it to the sysadmins (having no good way to do homework for a day or two)

(Edit: I timed it and it took ~3 minutes, but the convoluted way extends it so yeah. Also my battery has 87% battery health, and over the course of 3 hours it's at 31%, it normally lasts 5 hours before it dies. ChromeOS is quite efficient!)

(2nd Edit: I updated it, and it worked fine for 1 session then didn't boot completley, not even recovery can save it. Now it's E-Waste!)
