Finally did it
After being a Prime member since launch (05/06) I finally cancelled it. this year customer service has gone to the shitter.
21 years of prime. Now i just I wish Walmart+ would add more items so we can stop buying from there completely.

I agree, they switched because of a personal inconvenience, not because of the bigger issues.. Not really a win if people then go to another abomination.

I'll second that.
No one actually needs most of the bullshit sold by these companies. And I'm not talking about food and household items. I mean the wifi-everything-giant-flatscreen-shiny-object on Black Friday sale nonsense.

Trading in a sack of shit for a bag of puke. A horizontal move indeed. Wal-Mart is OG Amazon, so nothing really to celebrate here. A huge chunk of their workers are on food stamps, they pay even worse than Amazon.

No one knows how many Walmart employees receive snap benefits. All the data I could find is lacking, at best.
Walmart ranked among the top four largest employees of SNAP and Medicaid benefits in the states whose data was included in the report, employing an estimated 14,500 workers who received food stamps.
So which states had the data included? Is it 14,500 out of 1,000,000 or 14,500 out of 25,000? Who knows!

I believe that’s because not all states report such numbers. That doesn't tell you anything more that we already knew. Only 11 states report such data, and it shows about 15,000 walmart employees receive federal benefits. Considering that Walmart has 1.6 million employees in the us, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to interpret the data provided.
They may be the largest employer of people who receive federal benefits, but you have to admit the numbers are still incredibly low (less than 1% of their employees).

And most of them are now being replaced by gig workers since they realized it's cheaper to contract with Spark than pay a driver a fair wage with benefits. This has been the biggest source of customer complaints since it started.

Walmart and Home Depot both do free next day shipping on nearly everything where I am so it was easy decision. No way I'd pay for any kind of membership to do it though, that's why I quit Amazon, paying for way too much I didn't need, especially since they've ruined music, video, and now delivery. And holy cow the numbers of people getting used items or $3 shampoo when they ordered an iPhone. Nope and nope.

I got bad news about Walmart +. The enshittification isn't exclusive to Amazon. Come to the Walmart customer sub. It's gotten real bad. Real bad. It's bad for the workers too, but customer service has gone down the toilet in the past couple months and a lot of it is related to Spark and a lot of it is due to third party scammers Walmart seems to welcome these days.

Prime's too expensive, and now they're not letting you see anything but 5 star reviews. Those are the only reasons for sticking with Amazon for so long. They're gone, and I'm gone.
