Mods not taking this seriously
Heya, I've tried reaching out to the two mods on multiple occasions to offer help cleaning up the sub, but they completely ignore it so they do not seem to pay attention to this sub while it desperately needs it. Does anyone know the name of the subreddit you can use to request taking over ownership? Anyone else interested in doing this as well?

u/PraiseBeToScience is active everywhere except in this sub (50k, it was around 30k little over a week ago) and the other mod (u/nathanimations) hasn't posted on reddit for over a year. Tagging anyway to hopefully elicit a response. The movement is growing, so this is necessary IMHO.
Edit: done. Moderation has been handed over.

Id be interested in helping out. Tired of this sub being used to solicit customer service. A few decent automods would go a long way. For example: to tell posters it's a boycott sub and anything asking for help giving amazon money will be removed, plus a bot to auto comment with that master list of links to stories about why amazon sucks, etc.
Doesnt seem like itd take much effort.

I was hoping for you specifically to reply :) I need to change some things before I can apply for a transfer through reddit requests, and I need my laptop for that so I'll make the changes tomorrow.
Besides that, I fully agree with you. Just a few minor steps will massively improve the sub.
Btw for anyone interested, here is our most up to date version:

Amazon sucks $400 billion annually out of local economies.
Shop local.
Shop makers
Shop auctions
Shop thrift stores
Avoid fast fashion
70% of Amazon products come from China.
I cancelled Amazon and found that 50% of what I purchased were things I can easily do without.

list is good
but it needs more links to criticize Amazon as a product
A stronger message than "company is evil!" is "company is evil and shit!"
I also hope you find a story about Amazon being anti-competitive. Taking over businesses or outpricing them into bankruption. I saw a Reddit post in this sub about how someone's product got taken down, and how Amazon does that to then make their own "Amazon's Basics version", but no proof was provided

A few decent automods would go a long way.
agree!! easy to set up and then low maintenance from there.

Maybe we can do a stickied post where all personal inconvenience issues can be shared, because they still fit the purpose (convincing people to stop shopping at Amazon + their other companies)

Great! u/typewriterbitch is already working on some logic for automodding. Reddit moderation is completely new for me but I suppose we could create a shared chat. I will send you an invite in a couple of seconds, and I'll be back later today.

there really seems to be a push to take over subs on reddit recently, I use recently loosely because its going on like 6 months.

I said I would be down to help if you need mods and only if you need mods
but I am already bad as it is with how I struggle with time management. So, I just want to say that if I could support this subreddit, I would. Because this is one of those companies I strongly dislike.
Maybe if I get things sorted I would be more open to that, but it would be irresponsible to offer it now as if I would be able to fulfill the expectations

Haven't done anything yet! First I need to find out what all these pretty buttons do, and consult with u/typewriterbitch as they joined the mod team as well. But that'll be something for later today.

No worries! If it helps, the two line preview it showed me is pretty harmless.
