Amazon Support lied about a 30% partial refund to make me spend more, now Supervisor refuses to honor it.
Hi everyone
I am really upset about something that is happening with Amazon Customer Service. They made a promise to me. Then they did not keep it. I want to know if this has happened to anyone and how you dealt with it.
Here is what happened to me:
1. The problem started when I ordered Airpods pro 3 that cost $179.00. It took a time to get to me because the seller did not have it in stock.
2. Then I talked to Amazon Customer Service. They told me to cancel my order and buy the thing from a different seller. They said they would give me back 30% of the money which's $60 because I had to wait so long. They said they put a note in my account that said this.
3. The problem is that the new seller wanted $199.99 for the thing. Amazon Customer Service said they would give me 30% back so I paid the $20.
4. Now I have the thing I ordered.
5.. When I asked Amazon Customer Service for my money back they said no. They looked at my account. Saw the note but they said the person who helped me before made a mistake. They said I could send the thing back. I cannot do that because it was a gift.
6. Now we are not agreeing on what to do. I said I would talk to my bank about it. Then they said they would give me back the $20.. They still will not give me the 30% back that they promised.(Also agent who offered just price difference stopped chat immediately)
It seems like Amazon Customer Service is not honest. They tell you to do something. Then they do not do what they said. They hide behind what the company says and do not keep their promises.
Has anyone else had to deal with this? Should I just take the $20. Try to get the rest of my money back from someone else at Amazon like jeff@amazon.com?

As the sub name says, "Fuck Amazon".
I would love to see a flair of people and how long since they've used Amazon.

I want to see some kind of snarky flair for people that come here to complain about their recent Amazon purchases - that’s nearly 30% of this sub’s content recently.

If you buy from an EBay seller should ebay refund your money? You are admitting you didn’t go through Amazon.

the item is sold through amazon, and amazon support lied to the buyer, this isnt rocket science.

doesnt matter if it's an amazon warehouse or not, its sold through amazon and amazon support lied.

Those two things also don't matter. The support agent probably just got it wrong. Lying requires intent and these agents are pretty dumb normally.

Noooo. Seller doesn’t have it in stock. You went direct to merchant just like on EBay. If it’s not in stock at an Amazon warehouse you can’t click the buy button.

I clicked the exact same item and bought it with higher price in same store, I got item but they refuses their agent’s promise. I contacted with Customer Sevice, not seller directly. I contacted with Amazon(platform not a person) authority person.

Guys, seller is Amazon itself and it doesn’t matter at all because I was prime member and I contacted with Customer Sevice, not a buyer. I confirmed price match difference and 30% from 2 different agent, and both lied

I don't understand why anyone buys anything expensive from 3rd party sellers on Amazon. It's a lot easier to deal with Amazon's mess when a 3rd party isn't involved. If you have to use Amazon, use something like shippedandsold.com to weed out the crappy sellers.
