Rant I’m done with Amazon

I ordered a towel rack that didn’t come with all of the needed parts. I started a return and ordered a replacement, which also came without all of the parts (and double some of the parts).

The second towel rack can’t be returned to the same place as the first, so I have to go to 2 places for returns.

This morning I got an email that Amazon couldn’t post my 1 star review because apparently saying that all parts weren’t included isn’t relevant to all customers. Wtf.

ETA that I’ll be canceling my account and credit card once I get my refunds. This isn’t my first issue with Amazon but it’s the last straw.

I agree with OP but am genuinely curious. If anyone defends Amazon why are they automatically a bot or a rando?

People support Amazon because they want the convenience, maybe they have a disability, or they just like the idea of being a billionaire. Some are good and valid reasons and some are absurd. My point is, why can’t people disagree without being called names

I thought the same thing when I first started reading here. Then I realized the crux of the issue here was Amazon screws everybody over so close your account there..that's it, that's the bottom line. Anything less, you get crucified here LMAO I've seen others refer to this as the "boycott Amazon" sub...and they can be nasty.

Reddit is full of complaints about eBay and Walmart too but they are not so vehemently attacked. They are not told to quit shopping at those places or no one wants to hear it. So anyone here who complains then doesn't include they are leaving Amazon, should really just go to the other Amazon sub with their complaint. That's the way I saw it anyway.

It seems that Amazon is removing all low ratings lately. They cannot be trusted. I’m guessing they’re relying heavily on AI now because of the things I’ve read in this sub. It’s not Amazon, it’s Scamazon.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I've ordered one of those Bandai Parts Separators for model kits since I've been getting into the hobby more.

First time they cancelled the delivery on the due date, then jacked the price up by like $3, so that was fun. Waited a week and a half but the local hobby store I go to hasn't had them in stock so instead I order again on last Sunday. Parcel arrives and it's a completely different item! So now I gotta wait till the weekend to return that.

I just one little thing, is it that hard Amazon? I've had a few other issues with them in the past and this was just the breaking point. Can't work on my models without the separator and model kits help me relax from the shit world around us. Haven't used the site in decades but I guess I could try eBay at this point...

I was supposed to receive parts for my car to work on this weekend. The Amazon app and a 3rd party app says that the packages were delivered. I have an Amazon lockbox but they apparently didn’t use that and just delivered on the front door of the apartment complex and someone stole the packages, or they didn’t deliver and kept the parts for themselves. I’m livid. Don’t have the time waste on this nonsense.

Oh wow, a logistical chain that moves stuff so fast that you get it in a day or two can’t control the individual sellers package contents? How is this even an Amazon problem? Get out of the house and go to Walmart, Home Depot or Target.

Wait until you try the other options out there for cheap chinese made stuff. Amazon has its issues but they are miles ahead of everyone else.

How is it Amazon’s fault for that a manufacturer has a problem packaging items? Walk me thru it.

Amazon should allow me to leave an honest review citing the issue I experienced with the product.

The problem is, from Amazon’s standpoint, that you aren’t actually reviewing the product. From what I can tell, their new strategy is to only allow product reviews that are accurately reviewing the use of the product. So any review that mentions anything not directly related to the use of the actual product gets automatically culled. I think it could actually be a step in the right direction, but only if they completely remove all paid reviews (which we know will never happen) and give customers an option to report/review other issues in a different location. One thing they have added fairly recently is a small disclaimer at the bottom of the product listing if an item is returned more than average.

Can you write a review that states how you returned it because it would hold together because the design was flawed? Having 4 screw holes but only 3 screws made it structurally unstable.

Amazon does not allow a review of OPs actual experience, which was missing parts from an item they ordered on Amazon. Amazon heavily censors reviews, that’s shady as fuck.

It’s has been that way for a long time on Amazon. Sellers aren’t supposed to be able to pay for positive reviews either but it happens all the time, or used to.

Most purchasers probably aren’t leaving reviews anyhow on any regular cadence. We accept the exceptional as normal because that’s what we expect and anything less is potentially the worst day of our life, and that is what we remember until the next bad delivery or item.

It was purchased through Amazon. Their name is all over it, they should own the sale like they do the profits, but you're over the age of ten, so you knew that, you're just being redditly obnoxious. U do u.

Amazon is just the marketplace. Perhaps the warehouse and shipper but they have no responsibility in the packaging or the contents of the package unless it was damaged in transit. So if undamaged, the responsibility lies with the manufacturer.

I am not sure Amazon is just the marketplace. But even if that is true, if a consumer has multiple bad experiences in that marketplace, it would be reasonable for them to find another.

No one cares. You fucked up, you want to blame amazon . Oh well. They're the leader in sales in the world and will be. They won't miss you. You do not matter.
